The role : As a Design Engineer at Coram AI, you’ll own the mechanical and electromechanical design of our next-generation security and edge-AI systems. You’ll bridge industrial design, manufacturing, and field deployment: building products that integrate compute, power, and connectivity in rugged, real-world environments. You’ll take ideas from concept through production, shaping how our hardware scales globally. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and validation of electromechanical assemblies balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost Own the full product lifecycle from prototype through EVT/DVT/PVT, vendor handoff, and field deployment Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery Be a proactive self-starter: take initiative, act with urgency, and bring a scrappy, hands-on approach to problem solving in fast-moving environments Drive execution across multiple workstreams with urgency and accountability Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 2–5 years of experience in electromechanical or hardware product development Strong CAD proficiency (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent) Proven DFM/DFA experience and understanding of manufacturing techniques for sheet metal and injection molding Working knowledge of thermal, vibration, and environmental design considerations Resilient in challenging and fast-paced environments Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
