Deploying to Vercel

Zero-config Hosting

Vercel (the company behind Next.js) supports every feature out of the box: ISR, streaming, image optimisation, edge, preview deployments per pull request.

  1. Push the project to GitHub.
  2. In vercel.com, "Add New Project" → import the repo.
  3. Add environment variables (DATABASE_URL, AUTH_SECRET...).
  4. Every push to main deploys production; every PR gets a preview URL.

Example

Or from the terminal:

npm i -g vercel
vercel --prod

Example output

Vercel CLI 48.1.0
🔍 Inspect: https://vercel.com/shopease/shopease/9xKq2 [3s]
✅ Production: https://shopease.vercel.app [52s]

Cost and Limits

Note: Vercel is easiest, but cost grows with traffic, function duration and image optimisations. Many Indian startups start on Vercel and move to a VM/Kubernetes or Cloud Run when traffic grows. Next.js runs fine self-hosted.
