First Visit

Example

There are no endpoints yet, so Spring Boot answers with a 404 error in JSON. That still proves the server works:

curl -i http://localhost:8080/

Example output

HTTP/1.1 404
Content-Type: application/json

{"timestamp":"2026-01-15T04:46:02.118+00:00","status":404,"error":"Not Found","path":"/"}

Note: Port 8080 was already in use? Another app (or an old run of yours) is using it. Stop it, or change the port with server.port (next module).
