COMPANY OVERVIEW

References to KKR’s investments may include the activities of its sponsored funds and insurance subsidiaries.
TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR's Global Insurance Client Solutions (GICS) team, part of KKR's broader Insurance platform alongside Global Atlantic, is responsible for developing multi-dimensional, senior-level relationships with insurance companies globally. The GICS team aims to add value to its clients by delivering fully integrated balance sheet solutions that combine KKR's leading asset origination capabilities, deep capital markets access and strategic capital deployment expertise, liability structuring solutions, and expert insights into global regulatory frameworks, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and ALM. GICS seeks to provide bespoke solutions with the goal of helping clients execute on their strategic initiatives and advancing KKR's own objectives.
POSITION SUMMARY
The GICS team is looking to add a Principal to the team, based in New York. This individual will take a leadership role across the firm's liability origination efforts, owning the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of reinsurance and capital solutions opportunities. These solutions will include flow reinsurance, block reinsurance, and other customized solutions including product development and Defined Contribution market products / strategies.
As a senior member of the team, the Principal will independently lead client relationships and transactions while orchestrating cross-functional groups and leadership within KKR, including (i) insurance investments-focused team members within GICS to drive client connectivity, (ii) reinsurance pricing/deal teams to structure and execute liability transactions, (iii) the Insurance-Funded Product Strategies team to structure and execute third-party capital vehicles, and (iv) legal/finance/operations professionals to manage pre- and post-deal execution. The Principal will be accountable for shaping strategic proposals, leading client dialogue, directing deal execution, and mentoring junior team members. This role carries meaningful ownership over the team's commercial agenda and a direct line of engagement with senior client stakeholders and KKR leadership.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates will have approximately 6-10+ years of relevant experience at an investment bank, (re)insurance company, asset management firm, or private equity firm in an M&A/structuring, corporate development, and/or senior client-facing role. Ideal candidates will bring deep, hands-on experience with insurance M&A, corporate finance, capital markets, and a sophisticated understanding of the (re)insurance market and strategies. Direct experience structuring and executing (re)insurance transactions and insurance capital solutions is strongly preferred. We are most focused on candidates who combine outstanding analytical rigor with proven commercial judgment, leadership presence, and a demonstrated ability to own client relationships and lead transactions from origination through close.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the pitching and origination of liability solutions, owning the development of new client relationships and the deepening of existing ones
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, directing ongoing dialogue and driving the client management process
• Work with the reinsurance pricing/deal teams and the firm's insurance business to structure and execute reinsurance transactions, and to shape the deal pipeline and market positioning
• Work with Finance/Operations/Compliance/Legal professionals to manage complex client engagements and execution matters
• Provide direction and oversight to:
• Junior team members, providing mentorship, review, and development
• Own the strategic narrative and quality of product pitch materials, bespoke proposals, and supporting analyses
• Manage and resolve high-priority, client-specific initiatives and follow-up requests
• Lead transactions and play a central role in the end-to-end client management process
• Lead financial analysis to evaluate new business opportunities and assess existing business trends, framing findings for senior decision-makers
• Direct and oversee transaction processes from initiation through completion
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams and complex transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, setting priorities and maintaining excellence under heavy workloads
• Sophisticated critical and creative thinking across the quantitative and qualitative spectrum, with the judgment to know which lever to pull and when
• Intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and the ability to operate with significant autonomy
• Deep interest and demonstrated expertise in reinsurance, product development, and insurance capital solutions
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read varying perspectives and tailor messages to senior internal and external audiences
• Meticulous organization with an emphasis on accountability and attention to detail across a portfolio of priorities
• Technical and aesthetic mastery of PowerPoint and Excel
• Comfort using AI-powered tools to improve productivity and quality of work
• Content-driven leadership, with the ability to distill complex and nuanced topics for a wide range of audiences, including boards and senior management
• Maturity, presence, sound judgment, and the credibility to form, express, and defend opinions to cross-divisional teams and senior leadership
• Strong relationship-development skills, including remotely, with global teams and with senior internal and external stakeholders
• A leadership orientation: the ability to mentor and elevate junior colleagues while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Adaptable and flexible, able to navigate and steer shifting priorities
This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
