What is Cloud ?
Getting started
At its simplest, the cloud is just someone else's computer that you access over the internet.
Instead of buying physical hard drives, powerful servers, or expensive software and running them on your own laptop or in a dedicated server room in your office, you "rent" those resources from massive tech companies (like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft) who house them in giant data centers all over the world.
the Apartment Analogy
Think of traditional IT computing like buying a house: You have to pay a massive amount of money upfront, buy all the furniture, fix the plumbing yourself when it breaks, and if you suddenly need more space, you have to build an entire extension.
Cloud computing is like renting a fully serviced apartment:
You only pay for the time you live there (Pay-as-you-go).
If you need more space for a weekend party, you can temporarily upgrade to a larger room instantly (Scalability).
If the roof leaks, the building management fixes it, not you (Maintenance-free).
