Pre-Release Checklist

Before You Call the Framework Done

  1. Every page class uses By fields and BasePage waits; no Thread.sleep anywhere (grep -r "Thread.sleep" src returns nothing).
  2. Tests run alone, in any order, and in parallel with 8 threads without failures.
  3. Test data is created per test (API) and never depends on another test.
  4. No secrets in Git: passwords and access keys come from environment variables / CI secrets.
  5. Failures produce a screenshot, URL, page source and log lines in the report.
  6. Smoke suite under 2 minutes; regression under 15 minutes on the Grid.
  7. Flaky tests are quarantined with tickets; the gate suite is green 5 nights in a row.
  8. README explains: how to run locally, how to run one test, how to add a page and a test.

Exercise: Write the Maven command a new team member runs to execute only the cart tests in Firefox against staging, with the browser visible.
